MassMutual Foundation Donates $225,000 to Nonprofit Organizations on Behalf of Local Financial Professionals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The MassMutual Foundation has awarded $225,000 to eligible nonprofit organizations through its annual Community Service Awards (CSA) program. These charitable contributions – which include two $25,000 awards, fifteen $10,000 awards, and five $5,000 awards – are given in honor of MassMutual financial professionals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to nonprofit organizations in their local communities.

This year's two $25,000 CSA grants are being awarded to Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids, on behalf of Mark A. Keating, a MassMutual general agent in Grand Rapids, Mich., and to For Love of Children (FLOC), on behalf of Colin W. Kimpel, a MassMutual financial professional in Vienna, Va.

The Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids enables all young people to reach their full potential as responsible citizens through education, recreation and other positive community experiences in partnership with the Grand Rapids Police Department. Keating has devoted both his time and personal and professional resources to help the Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids and the youth they serve. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Resource Development Committee and has sponsored several signature events including Rising Stars – where he served as a keynote speaker, the annual Thanksgiving dinner, and Be Great Tailgate – an annual fundraising event.

For the Love of Children (FLOC) provides educational services beyond the classroom to help students succeed – from first grade through college and career. FLOC brings together students, volunteers, families, and community partners in proven programs that teach, empower, and transform. Kimpel has been a strong advocate, fundraiser, volunteer and board member of FLOC since 2012. His connections and leadership skills have helped FLOC increase its visibility in the community and provide more students with the educational tools they need to succeed.
