CALGARY, Nov. 1, 2012 /CNW/ - MasterBUILT Hotels, a joint venture between Superior Lodging Corp. - one of Canada's largest and most successful hotel developers renowned for establishing the Super 8 and Wingate by Wyndham brands in Canada - and Jayman MasterBUILT, one of Canada's premier residential builder developers over the past three decades - celebrated the opening of Microtel's first Canadian prototype hotel in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
Estevan's newest and most anticipated hotel is situated on King Street with convenient access to shopping, dining, entertainment, the Leisure Centre, and Civic Auditorium just a few blocks away. The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Estevan (www.microtelestevan.com) is the city's first hotel to offer guests an indoor pool and waterslide and features an extensive range of complimentary amenities: deluxe hot continental breakfast, coffee, high-speed wireless Internet, weekday newspaper, indoor water park with hot tub, fitness center, parking and business centre. Guests also have access to valet cleaning service, a copy/fax / printing service, and a locker room for oilfield workers to store their gear.

The opening of the hotel has created ~20 permanent jobs with most of the positions being filled by local Estevan residents. The Microtel in Estevan is the first hotel of an extensive development plan by MasterBUILT Hotels that calls for the opening of 75 Microtel by Wyndham hotels in Canada over the next twenty-five years. The next Microtel is slated to open in Timmins, ON later this year with construction scheduled to commence on hotels in Weyburn, SK, Lloydminster, SK, Fort McMurray, AB, Red Deer, AB, Blackfalds, AB over the next 6 months. There are currently two other Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham open in Canada in Woodstock and Parry Sound, ON, both of which represent the brand's older design concept.
