Masters of Trivia Opens Its FAN EXPO Dallas Middle-earth Championship to Players Worldwide

After a KamehaCon tournament produced four perfect scores and a title decided by one second per question, the token-powered trivia platform puts convention attendees and online players on a single leaderboard.

BOERNE, Texas, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Masters of Trivia (MOT39052-USD) (SOL-USD), the global edutainment platform selected to the HundrED Global Collection 2026, will exhibit at FAN EXPO Dallas, September 11 to 13, 2026, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, where it will stage "One Quiz to Rule Them All: The Middle-earth Championship."

The tournament runs Sunday, September 13, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Attendees compete from the Masters of Trivia booth. Everyone else competes from wherever they are, on the same questions, at the same time, on one leaderboard. Entry is free and no app download is required, via this link.

The timing is deliberate. 2026 marks 25 years since The Fellowship of the Ring, and FAN EXPO Dallas, which expects more than 65,000 attendees, is marking the anniversary with a reunion of the film's principal cast.

A format proven three weeks earlier

The Dallas event follows Masters of Trivia's Dragon Ball tournament at KamehaCon in San Antonio, August 21 to 23, which drew more than 300 players and produced a result the company had never recorded. Four competitors answered all 30 questions correctly. The title was decided on average response time, with one second per question separating first from second. Every player in the top ten scored 29 or better, and prizes were awarded in person at the booth.

"KamehaCon told us something we had suspected but never measured," said Dom Einhorn, Founder and CEO of Masters of Trivia. "At the top of an expert fan community, knowledge stops being the constraint and speed becomes the discriminator. Four players knew everything. One second per question separated first from second. The Dallas set is built for that reality: the opening tier is answerable by anyone who has seen the films, and the final tier is where the appendices decide it."

Player feedback also changed the format. The per-question timer, 15 seconds in San Antonio, moves to 18 seconds in Dallas.

Ninety questions, three tiers, one leaderboard

"One Quiz to Rule Them All" opens with two unscored warm-ups, followed by 90 scored questions across three ascending tiers: Fellowship, Ranger, and Loremaster. Ties break on average response time. Standings are certified after review, and trophies go to the top three.

"A convention hall is the most concentrated expertise you will ever find on a single subject, and the online audience for that subject is a thousand times larger," said Dr. Hanh Nguyen, Chief Brand Officer at Masters of Trivia.
