Matheson Announces the Appointment of Charles J. Mellor, Esq., as Senior VP and Chief Legal Officer

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Matheson Trucking, Inc. today announced the appointment of seasoned Civil Attorney Charles J. Mellor as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of this nationwide trucking and materials handling company that includes the Matheson Flight Extenders Division.

Mr. Mellor has 26 years of experience as a trial attorney, mediator and advisor to mid-size corporations, boards of directors and principals of family-owned businesses concerning both operational, risk management and civil litigation matters. Over the years he also founded and served on the boards of several diverse nonprofit organizations addressing the concerns of underserved populations, young adults and those in need.

In 1989 Mr. Mellor was admitted to the California State Bar, admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Southern and Northern Divisions, and also admitted to practice in the Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He served as a trial attorney for a leading insurance company until 1996, when he established a private law firm advising various corporations as General Counsel. He has achieved a "Superb" 9.1 rating for business legal services by AVVO, the legal services online rating system, based on his experience, industry recognition and professional conduct.  

He serves as a Judge Pro-Tem for the San Diego Superior Court and has served as a Judge Pro-Tem Panelist in Marin County, CA. Mr. Mellor has been a registered arbitrator/mediator in San Diego, Sonoma, Marin, Contra Costa and Santa Clara Counties. In addition, he is a member of the San Diego and Los Angeles Bar Associations in California as well as the American Bar Association.
