There's soon going to be a new type of photo fiend in town as mAuto Store prepares to launch its first Sunshade Sweepstakes. With its new contest the creative online car accessories startup will turn average drivers into what can only be described as the car sunshade paparazzi.
Taking a cue from mAuto's lively client base, CEO and Founder Lester Mapp decided it would be a great idea to build on that. "Our clients were already sending us photos of their new Eyes Car Sun Shades in their cars so we decided what the heck, let's make a competition out of it."
There were early signs that the Eyes Car Sun Shade was an instant hit. Prior to the official launch date in April, pre-orders poured in so the online car accessories retailer and manufacturer knew the product would fly off its virtual shelves.
However, no one could have foreseen the quick turnover that followed. The company's signature sun shades would have reached over 4,000 units sold in less than two months, making it a shoe-in for bestseller.
While remaining tight-lipped on the official start date of the contest, Mapp said, "Anyone who is a fan of social media will love it because it's just so easy." He also indicated that the Sweepstakes are expected to run for a number of weeks.
Nowadays Internet users can pin, tag and otherwise marinate in a wide array of visual imagery. For an online car accessories retailer and manufacturer to make images a focal point of its first contest proves the company is relevant. If the vibrant startup could find a way to reward its clients for an unforeseen activity that they initiated there is no telling what mAuto might do next.
