Maxim Healthcare Services Announces Key Clinical Leadership Appointments
COLUMBIA, Md., May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., a leading provider of home healthcare, medical staffing and population health and wellness services, today announced the appointment of two senior clinical leaders to its executive team.
Chery Nelson has been appointed senior vice president of clinical innovation and delivery. In this newly created role, she will focus on nursing advocacy and workforce development. Nelson joined Maxim in 2010 as vice president of clinical operations for the west region before being promoted to senior vice president of clinical operations in 2013. She brings more than 40 years of experience in clinical and operations management in critical care, acute care, home care, wound care and staffing in a variety of settings including hospitals, health systems and multi-site operations. Nelson earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota and her master's from San Diego State University.
Melissa Fannin has been promoted to senior vice president of clinical operations and will assume the role of chief nursing officer in 2017. In her new role, she will design and implement a strategic nursing plan and work with other clinical leaders to establish a nursing governance structure to ensure care is delivered consistently across the company's operations. Fannin previously served as vice president of clinical operations for Maxim's mid-Atlantic region. In addition to more than 20 years of experience as a nurse, Fannin brings expertise in health policy and law, business development and program management to her new role. She currently holds master's degrees in business and health policy and is scheduled to earn a master's in clinical informatics and leadership from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in May 2017.
