Selected from a pool of nearly 40,000 caregivers across the United States, Sabrina was first nominated by the local office in Newport News, Virginia, as the Office Caregiver of the Year for consistently demonstrating superior commitment to excellence based on four key focus areas: Compliance, Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, and Operational Strength.
She was then selected as the District winner and ultimately advanced to serve as the Northeast Regional representative before claiming the national title of Maxim's first ever Caregiver of the Year.
"Our goal was to create a program to honor and celebrate caregivers who genuinely go out of their way to improve the lives of our patients every day. To us, Sabrina is the true definition of what it means to go above and beyond," said Tim Kuhn, Maxim's Chief Culture Officer. "The bond that she shares with the patient and family she currently cares for is remarkable. She is an inspiration to all of us and we are so proud that she is a part of the Maxim family."
During her acceptance speech, Sabrina stated, "I don't do this for the recognition, I do it because I love my job and because I love my patient."
A panel of judges from Maxim's headquarters hand-picked four finalists to represent the Company's top caregivers in each region (Northeast, Southeast, Central, and West/Mountain West) and be considered for the distinguished Caregiver of the Year honor. The other three Regional representatives were Kimberly Lovin of Knoxville, Tennessee (Southeast), Bettye Miles-Lauren of Houston, Texas (Central), and Valaria Mays of Tacoma, Washington (West/Mountain West Region).
As the winner, Sabrina received a cash prize and a trip to Maxim's headquarters for a special awards ceremony and meet-and-greet with Company leadership and employees. Nominations are currently underway for the 2012 Caregiver of the Year Awards program.
