Maxim Healthcare Services Names Local Nurse Caregiver of the Year Finalist
Kim Taylor Receives Southeast Caregiver of the Year Accolades
COLUMBIA, Md., April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to recognize and celebrate its outstanding caregivers Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. an established provider of home healthcare, medical staffing, and wellness services, recently named Kimberly Taylor (formerly Lovin) as a finalist for its first-annual Caregiver of the Year award. Kim, a licensed practical nurse and nearly six-year employee in the Knoxville office, was honored at a special ceremony at Maxim's headquarters in Columbia, Maryland.
Selected from a pool of nearly 40,000 caregivers across the United States, Kim was first nominated by her co-workers in the Knoxville office as the Office Caregiver of the Year for consistently demonstrating superior commitment to excellence based on four key focus areas: compliance, patient safety, quality improvement, and operational strength.
She was then selected as the district winner and ultimately advanced to serve as the representative and title holder for the Caregiver of the Year for Maxim's Southeast region.
"Kim is a true representation of what it means to be a nurse. She exudes the character, integrity, and passion of a Maxim employee and seizes every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of her patients," said Sarah Stonier, Recruiter at the Knoxville Homecare office.
After the awards ceremony concluded, Kim stated "It means a lot to know that the company I have been with for so long chose me as a finalist! I am honored to represent the other nurses from my region."
A panel of judges from Maxim's headquarters hand-picked four finalists to represent the company's top caregivers in each region (Northeast, Southeast, Central, and West/Mountain West) and a chance to win the distinguished Caregiver of the Year honor. The other three regional representatives were Bettye Miles-Lauren of Houston, Texas (Central), Sabrina Anthony of Newport News, Virginia (Northeast), and Valaria Mays of Tacoma, Washington (West/Mountain West).
As a finalist, Kim received a cash prize and a trip to Maxim's headquarters for a special awards ceremony and meet-and-greet with company leadership and employees. Nominations are currently underway for the 2012 Caregiver of the Year Awards program.
