Maxta Inc. Names Jim Fitzgerald Vice President of Business Development and OEM Sales

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Maxta, a leader in hyper-convergence and software-defined storage, today announced the appointment of Jim Fitzgerald as its vice president of business development and OEM sales.

Fitzgerald, who has 25 years of sales and management experience in enterprise software and storage, joins Maxta from Nexenta Systems where he was vice president of business development. He led Nexenta's partnership strategy and successfully closed OEM sales and strategic relationships with companies such as Cisco, VMware, Intel, SuperMicro, Sandisk, and Seagate.

He spent eight years at Sun Microsystems in successively more influential sales and marketing roles and where he developed global business policies, negotiated key channel and OEM deals with multi-national companies and distribution partners, and led strategic partnerships, corporate acquisitions and joint ventures.

Fitzgerald received a bachelor's in economics from Boston College and an MBA from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
