Maxwell Dickson to Host Red Carpet Art Show Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Prevention Research
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Art company Maxwell Dickson has teamed up with the Breast Cancer Care & Research Fund (BCCRF), located in Los Angeles, to crowdfund $200,000 to support breast cancer research, prevention, and treatment. The fundraiser will take place via Crowdrise.com, a platform for nonprofit organizations started by Hollywood actor Edward Norton and others. The campaign launches on September 9 and will run through October 11. "We have an ambitious goal for an amazing cause and would love the support of the community," said James Freeman, CEO of Maxwell Dickson.
On Saturday, October 11, the Los Angeles-based art company will host the "Pink Tie Affair," an art show event in which all proceeds benefit BCCRF in downtown Los Angeles at the California Market Center, an iconic hub of the fashion industry during the first week of LA Fashion Week. There will be hundreds of guests in attendance including celebrities and local politicians.
Approximately one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and almost 30 percent of cancers in women are breast cancers, according to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. When it comes to finding a cure for breast cancer, every donation counts. With a donation of $25 or more to the campaign on Crowdrise.com, Maxwell Dickson invites you to attend its Pink Tie Affair fundraising event for an evening of food, wine, art, live music, art installations, massages and much more all in support of a great cause! This will be one of the most interesting, one-of-a-kind art shows this year: a classy, breast cancer-themed red carpet event supporting the Breast Cancer Care & Research Fund.
For the first time, Maxwell Dickson will unveil a new collection of 15 to 20 limited edition pieces to be auctioned off at the event. This collector's edition is "staff inspired" and pushes the boundaries of creativity. Only 250 prints will be made.
