CORONA, Calif., May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc., (Ticker: AVTC.OB) (www.autoretail.com), announced that Eugene Montanez, the Mayor of Corona, California, stopped by their corporate headquarters to visit with key executives and express the city's enthusiasm for continuing to support AVT with their rapid growth and expansion.
Montanez was elected to his first term on the Corona City Council in 2002, served as Mayor in 2007, and was re-elected as Mayor on November 29, 2011. Prior to being elected to the Council, Mr. Montanez served eight years as a Corona Planning Commissioner.
"Mayor Montanez is one of the reasons that Corona is such a great city to live in and run a business," stated Shannon Illingworth, Founder and Chairman of AVT. "He really cares about the people, the businesses, and the quality of life in our city."
AVT has been headquartered in Corona for over 5 years. During that time, the company has grown from a small operation with just a few employees to a new 60,000 square foot facility and sales that are forecast to hit $17 million this year.
"We have always enjoyed a great relationship with city leaders, and the business-friendly environment they have created has made it possible for us to grow so quickly," Illingworth stated.
Mayor Montanez was especially interested in learning more about how AVT is creating new automated retail stores that help companies increase revenues, expand distribution, lower costs, and enhance brand visibility. The Mayor received a tour of AVT's large assembly floor, and saw first-hand how new technologies are being integrated to create innovative and unique shopping experiences.
