MBL Law Adds Three New Team Members, Expands Commercial Real Estate Breadth

DALLAS, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MBL Law is pleased to announce the addition of Dallas real estate lawyers R. Craig Baker and Scott S. Magdziak. Mr. Baker joins MBL Law as Managing Shareholder from Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, where he served as a partner in the firm's real estate practice group, while Mr. Magdziak joins the firm as Shareholder from Bank of the Ozarks – Real Estate Specialties Group where he served as General Counsel. The firm also welcomes its new Marketing Director, Margaret Denman McDonald.

With the arrival of Mr. Baker and Mr. Magdziak, the firm's formal name will change to "Magdziak Baker Lopez PLLC." The firm will utilize "MBL Law" as its primary moniker. In addition, MBL Law is opening a second office location in Preston Center. Both the North Dallas and Preston Center offices will offer clients commercial and residential real estate legal services, as well as the firm's full suite of title and closing services.

With his primary focus on commercial real estate transactions, Mr. Baker represents investors, sponsors and funds in acquisitions, dispositions, property development, debt and equity financings, and restructuring. He also has extensive experience representing tenants and landlords in retail, restaurant, office, medical office and industrial leasing. Mr. Baker received his J.D. from Texas Tech University, where he graduated cum laude and was elected to serve on the Texas Tech Law Review and its Board of Editors.  He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Baylor University.

Mr. Magdziak also has an emphasis in commercial real estate transactions, with national experience involving projects across all asset classes and markets. His experience ranges from originating, structuring and servicing permanent, construction, bridge and mezzanine financings to drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, development and management agreements, loan documents, and title and insurance coverage. Mr. Magdziak received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, and he is licensed to practice in Texas, Missouri, and Kansas.
