McDonald's Customers Show Lovin' To Southern California Children And Families
LOS ANGELES, May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting today, McFans in Southern California can line the walls of their local restaurant with Paper Hearts as McDonald's kicks off its 13th annual fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). With a dedicated focus on the "lovin'" message in "I'm lovin' it," McDonald's is renaming the former "Give a Hand" fundraiser to "Lovin' for RMHC." Proceeds from the fundraiser continue to directly support families with critically ill children in local communities like Southern California. "Lovin' for RMHC" kicks off May 1 and continues through May 10 in participating restaurants across the Southland. To support, customers may purchase paper Hearts in $1, $3 or $5 denominations.
"At McDonald's our highest priority has always been to support the communities we serve, that is why programs like 'Lovin' for RMHC' are so very important to us," said Clay Paschen III, President, McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California. "It is through these fundraising programs that we are able to help keep families together and provide the care they need, when they need it most."
Through the support of McDonald's customers, RMHC is able to serve more than 9 million children and families around the world every year. RMHC has helped strengthen families during difficult times and has also served as a "home away from home" for families with sick children by providing a place for them to stay together while the child receives medical treatment.
Additionally, RMHC raises funds not only through the national "Lovin' for RMHC" event, but also from ongoing donations through Happy Meal sales, in-restaurant RMHC Donation Boxes and various local initiatives. Customers are encouraged to stop by and drop change in a RMHC Donation Box when they visit McDonald's throughout the year, but especially on Oct. 15, the annual RMHC "Day of Change." People can also donate to RMHC online by visiting www.donate.rmhc.org.
To learn more about RMHC and RMHCSC, visit www.rmhc.org, or www.rmhcsc.org. Customers can also use #forRMHC on social media to share how they've supported the Charity, the news of their donation and to raise awareness about what RMHC does for families and children.
