NerdWallet Study considers population, employment and income growth
MCKINNEY, Texas, March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, recently conducted a study to find the fastest growing cities in Texas – and McKinney ranked among the top 20.
"McKinney's strong population and income growth helped support the city's ranking on our list," NerdWallet analyst Maggie Clark said. "The population in McKinney increased by 12.9 percent between 2009 and 2012 and incomes grew by 4.1 percent during the same period."
In business, population and income, there's no doubt that Texas is on the rise. Texas experienced more high-paying job growth than the rest of the country over the last 13 years according to new research from the Dallas Federal Reserve. The state has also been the top domestic immigration destination in the country since 2006. Businesses are coming to Texas in droves, hiring new employees and raising salaries for existing workers.
