SAN DIEGO, Oct. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Measure B San Diego is a planned, village-oriented community for northern San Diego County. The need for additional housing stock has reached a critical point.
The entire state of California is in a housing crisis, the likes of which has never been seen, and San Diego is, unfortunately, feeling the effects of this crisis with prices and rents for families skyrocketing.
But in a world of depleting resources, we have to take advantage of new design and building technologies that sustain and extend the environment for generations to come.
Measure B is the answer to all these issues.
Not only will Measure B San Diego be a step in the right direction for providing housing, it will do so with a community that is the greenest the County of San Diego has ever seen.
Gordon Carrier, a well known architect and Green Building Expert said of Measure B: "The community has the highest rating that National Green Building Standard offers under its program for sustainability. I think it is among the most eco friendly in the region."
Here are the facts about the planned community of Measure B San Diego:
- Community will fund a Water Recycling Plant and use less water than is currently used on the land
- GHG emissions will be reduced by 30.4%. Confirmed by the County
- A zero net energy building. The total amount of energy used by the building is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site
- Eco-friendly. Community will preserve over 100 acres of natural open space, over 80 acres of agriculture and will restore and enhance over 18 acres of creeks and wetlands.
Measure B San Diego is the next generation of smart, eco-friendly, community oriented, pedestrian friendly designs to ever be considered.
