Med Time Technology, Inc. Teams up with Give A Smile, Inc. to Provide Pill Timer™ Kits and Toys to Children and Parents at the Chris Evert Children's Hospital of Broward General

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --The creators of the innovative Pill Timer, in partnership with Give A Smile, Inc., are donating toys and a much needed medication management system to pediatric patients and their families in the Chris Evert Children's Hospital at Broward General, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Representatives from Med Time Technology and Give A Smile, Inc. will be onsite Wednesday, December 15, from 1-3 pm distributing the donations. "We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute toys for the children to play with at the hospital and Pill Timer™ Medication Management kits for the parents - to help maximize the benefits of their children's prescription medications," said Evan Garrod, VP of Med Time Technology.

A recent study published in HealthDay reported that parent error was common when medicating chronically ill children.  Despite a high education level among parents, with 37 percent having bachelor's degrees and 12 percent holding advanced degrees, mistakes happened often.

The Pill Timer enables patients and caregivers to set audio and visual reminder alerts to help take medication "As Prescribed". The Pill Timer is designed to help those struggling to manage a chronic illness or fighting a life threatening disease.
