MedAssurant Announces Executive Management Additions

Strong demand for the Company's solutions aimed at leveraging data analytics to assess and improve clinical and quality outcomes, care management, and financial performance across the healthcare community continues to drive significant growth.

Mr. David Finkel has joined MedAssurant as the Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for the planning, management, and oversight of all product and service fulfillment operations, quality adherence operations, human resources, facilities, and administration across all aspects of the Company.  Prior to joining MedAssurant, Mr. Finkel served as Senior Vice President of Service Operations at WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP), the nation's largest health benefits company, where he was responsible for the leadership of all non-clinical operational areas that supported over 30 million members, overseeing more than 17,000 staff, and being responsible for more than $1.3 billion in annual budget. Preceding this position at WellPoint, Mr. Finkel served as Senior Vice President of Service Operations and Chief Executive Officer of Management Services for Coventry Health Care, overseeing all customer service, claims, enrollment, fulfillment, billing, provider network maintenance, quality improvement, and medical cost reduction for the $9 billion healthcare company. Before his tenure at Coventry, Mr. Finkel served in numerous executive roles at companies including Cigna Healthcare, HealthMarket, Inc., Deloitte & Touche, and Oxford Health Plans.

Mr. Hammad Shah has joined MedAssurant as the Chief Strategy Officer where he holds the responsibility for the strategy, design, development, implementation, operations, and expansion of the Company's core products, as well as the Company's strategic partnerships and alliances, acquisitions, international growth initiatives, and the support of the Company's broader strategic initiatives. Prior to joining MedAssurant, Mr. Shah served as Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Markets for Express Scripts (Nasdaq: ESRX), one of the healthcare industry's largest pharmacy benefit management companies with focus on data-driven solutions in areas of patient medication adherence, drug utilization improvement, cost management, and patient care services. At Express Scripts Mr. Shah was responsible for the strategy and leadership of five business units spread across clinical, distribution operations, and consumer directed health market operations with total revenue of $1.3 billion in annual revenues. Prior to this, Mr. Shah was Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, International Operations at Express Scripts where he lead the organization's global strategy and business development with specific emphasis on Europe and the Far East.

Mr. Luis Gutierrez, Jr. has joined MedAssurant as a Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Operations where he is responsible for the coordination, achievement, and operational management of the Company's pharmaceutical, life sciences, diagnostics, medical device, and related data registries business and product lines. Prior to joining MedAssurant, Mr. Gutierrez served as President of Periapproval and Market Access Services at Covance Inc. (NYSE: CVD), one of the industry's largest contract research organizations (CRO), where he was responsible for the 700-person group providing clinical and economic insight for pharmaceutical and biotech products. In this position, Mr. Gutierrez oversaw the analytical, operational, financial, and managerial planning and execution of randomized clinical trials, prospective observational studies, and retrospective analysis of healthcare datasets and registries on a global basis. Prior to serving as president, Mr. Gutierrez held roles as Covance's Vice President and General Manager of Market Access Services, and Vice President of Health Economics and Outcomes Research Services. Prior to joining Covance in 1991, Mr. Gutierrez worked in Business Development with Merck & Company.

Dr. Stephen DeCherney has joined MedAssurant as a Senior Vice President of Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences where he holds responsibility for supporting the strategy, design, development, implementation, operations, and expansion of the Company's pharmaceuticals, life sciences, diagnostics, and medical device business and product lines. Prior to joining MedAssurant, Dr. DeCherney served as Chief Innovation Officer for Quintiles Transnational Corp., the industry's largest CRO where he was responsible for design and execution of approaches to clinical trials within the pharmaceutical industry. Previously at Quintiles, Dr. DeCherney served as President of Clinical Development Services overseeing Global Clinical Development Services, Global Data Management, and Global Drug Safety and Strategic Research Services, responsible for approximately 8,000 staff among 50 countries with P&L for the divisions of approximately $1.25 billion in annual revenues. Prior to his tenure at Quintiles, Dr. DeCherney served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Programs and Global Clinical Operations for PRA International, a global CRO conducting clinical trials in more than 60 countries in six continents. He has served as Principal Investigator to more than 100 clinical trials and research initiatives; and has published nearly 100 articles in the areas of clinical trials, research, and varying areas of research medicine.
