FOUNDER OF PEDIATRIC CANCER CHARITY AVAILABLE TO ADDRESS THE PREVALENCE OF THE LEADING CANCER KILLER AMONG CHILDREN
OCEANPORT, N.J., May 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- May is National Brain Tumor Awareness Month. In the U.S. alone, 700,000 people are living with a brain tumor diagnosis. Of this number, approximately 28,000 were children. The number of new cases of pediatric brain tumors for 2013 is estimated at approximately 4,671 (or 12.8 each day). Five-year survival rate for pediatric brain cancer is less than 20%.
WHO: The Kortney Rose Foundation is a 501(c) (3) charity founded by Kortney's parents, after her death in 2006 from a rare brain tumor, to create her legacy of helping other children through the promise of research.
