Thomson Reuters Micromedex solutions to provide clinical decision support to Medrium's Electronic Medical Record
MORRISTOWN, N.J., July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- Medrium, Inc., one of the nation's top independent medical healthcare information technology companies, today announced it has signed a partnership agreement with Micromedex(R) solutions from Thomson Reuters to provide evidence-based referential content to its newly released EMR.
Under terms of the agreement, Medrium will incorporate Micromedex evidence-based medication information through RED BOOK and UltiMedex. These solutions will provide data for an intuitive medication pick-list featuring drug product and pricing information on all active prescription and OTC medications, proactive screenings with alerts for potential drug interactions, allergies and other medication conflicts, and patient-specific dosing covering multiple routes of administration. Additional clinical evidence is readily accessible for summary-level Micromedex drug information with ability to link directly to comprehensive drug monographs and patient education monographs covering information for chronic medications, injectable drugs, and chemotherapeutic agents in both English and Spanish.
"The Thomson Reuters solutions of RED BOOK and UltiMedex will provide significant Clinical Decision Support services for our EMR," said John Mortenson, CEO of Medrium. "In today's collaborative economy, partnering with the right organizations is a critical decision. We are extremely confident in products and services from Thomson Reuters and the support behind them that this agreement provides."
The agreement comes not only at an opportune time for the two companies, but also for the industry. Medrium's Complete Practice Management solution offers a seamlessly integrated suite combining practice management, clinical and billing functions in a low cost, completely integrated, easy to use solution for physician offices while Micromedex solutions have been primarily targeted towards the hospital. Micromedex's advantage is that it is clearly the most robust database in the market and expanding its coverage from the hospitals to the doctors office is a key strategic event for the company and brings greater resources to the doctor's office.
