Meet the Digital Financial Consultant for Small Businesses
Small Business Financial Advising Startup Sultant Now Accepting Signups for Platform's Beta Launch
DETROIT, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital financial advising startup Sultant announced today that they are now accepting signups for the beta version of their financial advising software for small businesses. The beta version is scheduled to launch on June 1st.
Sultant is a digital financial consultant dedicated to empowering small business owners to make sound financial decisions for their businesses. Starting at just $29 per month, the cloud-based software platform takes small business's existing data and turns it into intuitive visualizations, clear insights and actionable recommendations designed to improve business' bottom line. The result: a platform that equips small business owners with all of the information and insight they need to move their business forward.
Sultant's announcement is particularly appropriate given that President Obama has proclaimed April as National Financial Capability Month. "National Financial Capability month is about equipping individuals with the knowledge and protections necessary to secure a stable financial future for themselves and their families," Plummer says. "Small businesses are an essential part of that picture -- for their owners, their employees, and for the country as a whole."
Sultant is financial advising for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs: serial entrepreneurs themselves, Plummer and his co-founder Jared Crooks know firsthand that data is the key to sound business decision-making in the 21st century, and that existing options in the financial space are simply not cutting it for small businesses. Looking at the small businesses around them in Eric's current hometown of Detroit only confirmed their suspicions.
"Everywhere we looked, small businesses were folding because they didn't have access to the right information, and they couldn't foot the bill for a financial consultant, or couldn't have that financial consultant with them 24/7," says Crooks. "So we thought, 'What if there was a way for these entrepreneurs to just have the information they need, ready for them whenever they need it? How would that change the game for these businesses?'"
Harnessing their experience in business analysis, big data and strategy, Crooks and Plummer set to work building a financial advising platform that they themselves would want to use as entrepreneurs. The result is Sultant.
"All of the data small business owners need is right there in their financial statement," says Plummer. "The trick is pulling out the right information and slicing it in the right ways, so you can just look at the data, understand what it's saying and know what to do about it. That's what Sultant does."
Sultant is now accepting signups for their exclusive Beta through their website, www.sultant.co. The beta is scheduled to launch on June 1st with a small, select group of users. Applicants must be small businesses in operation for at least a year and use Quickbooks Online for recording finances. In exchange for providing feedback on the Sultant platform, beta users will receive 3 months of free service, with the possibility of ongoing discounts in the future.
"We built Sultant for small businesses," says Crooks about the beta launch. "So we're excited to get this product out there and see the impact it can have for small businesses as they grow."
