NEW YORK, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative agency Mekanism today announced its acquisition of Epic Signal, a social video start-up that specializes in growing brand communities. The move signifies the company's growth of capabilities and client offerings in the social space. Epic Signal will continue to operate independently with its own clients and leadership, and Mekanism will support the company with resources and personnel hires.
Based in New York and San Francisco, Epic Signal develops influencer marketing programs and implements channel strategy management for social video platforms. The company's offerings include helping brands grow their owned media presence on YouTube, as well as connecting brands and influencers to drive campaigns across social platforms Instagram Video, Snapchat, Periscope, Vine and YouTube. Epic Signal's client roster includes global brands such as Pepsi, Anheuser-Busch InBev, NBC's 'The Voice' and Chevy.
Since its inception in 2013, founder Brendan Gahan has grown Epic Signal into a preeminent agency in the emerging social video space. He previously served as VP of Brand Strategy at YouTube MCN Fullscreen. Gahan has a long established presence in the digital video space and is on Vidcon's advisory board. He has been named Forbes' 30 under 30 for marketing / advertising, one of ReelSEO's '25 Top YouTube Business Power Players for 2013,' and was featured in a recent National Geographic special called 'Generation YouTube.' He is a regular speaker on the conference circuit.
