meridianEMR Earns 2011 CCHIT Certification

LIVINGSTON, N.J., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- meridianEMR, Inc., a leading provider of electronic health records and advanced healthcare analytics for urology and surgical practices today announced its latest ambulatory electronic heath record system (EHR), meridianEMR version 4.2 is a Pre-Market CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR, pending advanced ePrescribing and operational use verification.

The CCHIT Certified® 2011 program is differentiated from the Preliminary American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) program by providing a rigorous, multi-faceted evaluation of integrated EHR functionality, interoperability and security.

To achieve certification, the meridianEMR's EHR was subjected to CCHIT's inspection process that is comprised of real-life medical scenarios designed to test products rigorously against the functionality, interoperability and security needs of providers. Certification by CCHIT designates that an EHR product has passed inspection of 100 percent of CCHIT's 2011 criteria.

The goals of CCHIT product certification are to reduce the risk of health information technology (HIT) investment by physicians and other providers; ensuring interoperability of HIT products; enhancing the availability of HIT adoption incentives from purchasers and payers; and to protect the privacy of personal health information.
