Meritor Appoints Craig Cartmill and Doug Wolma to New Aftermarket Positions
TROY, Mich., March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) has appointed Craig Cartmill to the position of vice president, Aftermarket Americas, and Doug Wolma, general manager, Global Aftermarket Operations, effective immediately. Both report directly to Joe Mejaly, vice president and president, Aftermarket & Trailer.
Cartmill is responsible for leading the development and execution of the strategic business plan for the company's Aftermarket organization in North and South America. He will also lead the emerging Meritor Logistics business globally. Cartmill replaces Dan Hopgood, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.
Prior to taking on this new role, Cartmill was general manager, Global Operations, Aftermarket & Trailer. He joined Meritor in August 2008 as general manager, Worldwide Operations. Prior to joining Meritor, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Daimler Truck North America and Detroit Diesel.
"Craig's extensive background in the commercial-vehicle segment as well as his exposure to international markets makes him a great choice for this position," Mejaly said.
Cartmill holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan – Dearborn.
Wolma is now responsible for leading global operations and strategic deployment, including remanufacturing, distribution, supply chain and the worldwide aftermarket footprint.
This is an expansion of his most recent responsibilities as general manager, Remanufacturing – a position he held since joining Meritor in 2006. During Wolma's leadership of Meritor's Remanufacturing, the business tripled in size while maintaining the quality and delivery standards expected by Meritor customers. The new position includes 20 facilities located in 12 countries around the world.
Prior to his arrival, he held senior management positions largely focused on operations at Detroit Diesel and Mercury Marine.
"Doug's familiarity with all aspects of Aftermarket operations and his demonstrated capabilities make him the perfect fit for the worldwide expansion required of our aftermarket business," said Mejaly.
Wolma holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
