LOS ANGELES, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Merle Norman Cosmetics, Inc., family-owned and franchise-run skincare and cosmetics company, kicked off its 80th Anniversary celebration at its annual convention in Downtown Los Angeles April 25-28th.
Jack Nethercutt, Chairman of the Board and President and great-nephew of Merle Norman said, "This anniversary is a monumental occasion for Merle Norman Cosmetics. Throughout our 80 year history, the brand has remained true to the philosophy established by Merle Norman in 1931; while we have grown dramatically and made many changes to the brand, we have always maintained her vision of individual customer service and quality American-made products. In addition to the new packaging by award-winning designer Marc Atlan, Merle Norman has plans for a redesigned print campaign to launch starting in June magazines; the television ad campaign which spotlights the makeover, a signature service, will premiere in May.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1931, Merle Norman Cosmetics is a leading brand of premium skin care, foundations and color cosmetic products. Its founder, Merle Nethercutt Norman, was one of the first women in cosmetics and a true innovator. In addition to creating breakthrough products, she empowered other women to begin their own business selling her cosmetic products. Today, Merle Norman Studios are located throughout the United States, Canada and in seven countries internationally. Still run by the Nethercutt family, the company is one of the few that continues to manufacture almost all of its products in the USA and uphold its founding mission: provide quality products backed by a full satisfaction guarantee; offer a Makeover and encourage customers to "try before they buy;" and continue to give individuals the opportunity to have financial freedom with owning their own Studio.
