Merriman Curhan Ford Names Former U.S. Senator Peter G. Fitzgerald to Its Advisory Board

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Merriman Curhan Ford Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MERR) today announced that it has appointed Peter G. Fitzgerald as its ninth independent advisory board member.


Fitzgerald is a former U.S. senator from Illinois, where he served from January 1999 to January 2005. He entered politics in 1992 as a state senator in the Illinois General Assembly.

Fitzgerald currently serves as founder and chairman of the board of Chain Bridge Bank, N.A., a nationally chartered commercial bank headquartered in McLean, Va. He also serves as an advisory board member of the Financial Services Partners Fund I, trustee of the National Constitution Center, co- chairman of the Capital Campaign for the American Philological Association and member of McLean Community Foundation's Leadership Council.

Prior to his national political career, Fitzgerald practiced corporate and banking law in Chicago in private practice and later as general counsel for Suburban Bancorp, Inc., which later became Harris Bankmont, Inc., a subsidiary of Bank of Montreal.

In his advisory board role, Fitzgerald will draw on his extensive banking and government experience, as well as his community contacts, to help Merriman Curhan Ford's senior management extend their business relationships.
