Mesa Rx Launches Software Solution to Lower Drug Costs for Self-Insured Employers
New solution challenges Pharmacy Benefit Managers by helping employers put common-sense savings plans in place
NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mesa Rx, a pharmaceutical cost savings consultancy, announced today the launch of their proprietary software solution that helps self-insured employers eliminate unnecessary drug spending. In beta, Mesa Rx's solution was able to identify up to 20% savings on the total purchase of drugs for several self-insured employers. Mesa Rx is critical now, as self-insured employers are not only suffering under the financial pressure of excessive drug costs, they are also disadvantaged because Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) do not always have fiduciary responsibility to hold down costs.

Mesa Rx also works with the employer's health plan and benefit consultant to implement and track these changes.
