MetroSouth Medical Center Receives High Ratings From Hospital Quality Rating Report

BLUE ISLAND, Ill., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MetroSouth Medical Center in downtown Blue Island, IL, has been rated among the "Top 100 Hospitals in the Nation for Medical Excellence" for 2012 in four categories of patient care and it was rated among the top ten percent in the country for two additional categories of patient care.  The hospital was also recognized for its overall excellence in cardiac care by receiving a ranking of 37 on a list of more than 4,300 hospitals in the U.S.

The rankings were generated by CareChex, a division of The Delta Group, the nation's largest privately-held healthcare information service company.

MetroSouth received "Top 100 Hospitals in the nation for Medical Excellence" rankings for cardiac care, heart failure treatment, hip fracture repair and stroke care.  In addition, the hospital's women's health and major bowel procedure services ranked in the top 10 percent in the country.
