MGIS Appoints New Executives And Focuses Structure To Further Accelerate Physician Group Benefits Growth
SALT LAKE CITY, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The MGIS Companies, Inc. (MGIS), a leading provider of insurance products and services designed specifically for physicians, today announced the appointment of two new executives and a change in its Professional Group Benefits (PGB) business unit structure to enhance focus on separate sales and ops/underwriting responsibilities. MGIS welcomes Andrew Davison as its vice president of operations and underwriting for the PGB business unit, and appoints Kurt Meyer to vice president of sales for the PGB business. Finance expert Matt Frost also joins the MGIS executive team and will serve as the new chief financial officer (CFO).
Andrew Davison joins MGIS with over 25 years of executive leadership experience in three of the industry's largest U.S. group disability carriers, including Reliance Standard Life, The Hartford and Unum. He has a solid track record of success in leading underwriting, product design, operations, and process improvement for major carriers. In his new role, Davison will have direct responsibility for all PGB operations, including underwriting, account services and implementation.
Kurt Meyer, who has been with MGIS since 2013, will now focus exclusively on growing the sales team for this important business unit. In his new role as vice president of sales, he will manage the expansion of the regional field sales and internal sales ops functions, refine MGIS' distribution model, and accelerate annual new premium growth.
Another key addition to the MGIS leadership team is Matt Frost as the company's new CFO. As an experienced financial executive and leader, Frost brings nearly two decades of experience to his new role and will oversee accounting, finance, and business strategy for the company.
