Miami Marlins Become First Team in Pro Sports To Offer Fan-To-Fan Ride Share Program
(Press conference to be held today on-field at Marlins Park at 4 p.m.)
MIAMI, June 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - EventRide announced a partnership with the Miami Marlins today that will be the first Fan-to-Fan Ride-share program in professional sports. New team partner EventRide will facilitate the ride share directly with fans and include a carbon credit program, all through the recently launched car-pool app. A press conference will be held today at 4 p.m. at Marlins Park. Media seeking credentials should contact [email protected] or [email protected].
Marlins fans can now easily car-pool with each other thanks to EventRide, a rideshare app dedicated to sports and concert events. After logging in with their Facebook account, fans can either give or get a ride to Marlins games all season. Fans can also share the cost of parking and fuel through the app.
"For every ride shared, a car is left at home. EventRide will be quantifying the carbon offsets created by fans and will be able to supply these credits to the community on behalf of the Marlins Organization." Said EventRide CEO Rod Bruinooge, who is a former Federal Politician.
After an extensive evaluation of sports and entertainment properties around the country, EventRide selected South Florida and Marlins Park, the most sustainable stadium in Major League Baseball, to showcase the innovative new service to fans.
"Our venue was built with a comprehensive sustainability strategy and we as an organization have always encouraged fans to take action to help the South Florida environment," said Claude Delorme, Marlins Executive Vice President of Operations and Events. "EventRide provides Marlins fans an alternate method to get to the ballpark that saves them money, and it also greatly reduces carbon emissions at the same time."
EventRide has been deployed in Florida and is available for download at www.eventride.com.
