Michael Aram Inc. Celebrates 25th Anniversary

NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Aram, Inc. is pleased to announce that 2014 marks the luxury home and gift brand's 25th year anniversary of the company's founding in 1989. The company is commemorating this milestone with the debut of two anniversary collections: the Atelier Collection, a grouping of newly created large scale sculptural works, and the Commemorative Collection, a retrospective selection of Michael's favorite functional pieces culled from his archives of the past 25 years. Since the company's inception, the brand has become a leading purveyor of luxury craftsmanship in tableware, decorative objects, home fragrance, furniture, and lighting.

The 25th Anniversary Atelier Collection consists of 12 sculptures in a limited edition of 25 pieces each. These large scale pieces commemorate a quarter-century of creativity and incorporate whimsical and organic themes, ranging from pieces which are narrative of a children's story to an oversized nest symbolizing the warmth and confines of the concept of a home, each work is numbered and hand-signed.

The 25th Anniversary Commemorative Collection includes 25 pieces which were specifically picked by Michael from his enormous body of work spanning the past 25 years. These re-edited pieces will be made in limited production only for the duration of 2014 and each embodies the charm, whimsy and organic quality which are hallmarks in Aram's work. Beginning with a spiraled handle shoe horn, the collection takes us on a visual journey through the evolution of Michael's design process and sensibility, which began after a life altering trip to India where Michael first became enthralled with the country's rich craft traditions.

The collections will be available starting today, January 7, 2014 and will be unveiled at an exclusive launch party in New York City.
