Michigan CEO Leaves on a High Note as the 2014 TEC Inspirational Leader of the Year

DEWITT, Mich., April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Call it luck or perfect timing, but either way, DENTCO CEO Kevin Dent is leaving on a high note. Dent recently announced his retirement and shortly after The Executive Committee (TEC) of Michigan named him the recipient of its 2014 Inspirational Leader of the Year Award.

DENTCO got its roots as a family-run business in 1977 when older brother Greg Dent founded a full-service landscape installation and maintenance company named Trees, Incorporated. Then in 1983, they acquired a regional parking lot maintenance company and incorporated an irrigation company shortly thereafter. In 1996, the integration of snow removal, landscaping, parking lot maintenance and irrigation acquisitions established the core services of DENTCO's ESM model.

Coincidentally, 12-year DENTCO veteran and former COO, Scott Milnes, was named the new President in 2013 and Greg's son, Justin Dent, (another 19-year DENTCO veteran) was named the new COO.
