MANISTEE, Mich., Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA), a tuition-free online public school for students in Michigan, will begin the 2014-15 school year on September 2, 2014. The program marks the start of its second year and is one of the fastest growing schools in Michigan. MGLVA uses the award-winning K¹² curriculum to offer students in grades K-12 an exceptional learning experience. Students who enroll at MGLVA follow an academic program that includes engaging web-based lessons along with instructional materials – books, videos, CDs and other hands-on tools and resources – which are shipped directly to each student's home. MGLVA teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, and regularly interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, phone and face-to-face meetings. Teachers also organize numerous field trips and school activities where students have the opportunity to participate in events that blend academics and socialization.
