Michigan Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce Named Chamber Of The Year By U.S. Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce
Innovative Programs Aimed at Helping Hispanic Business Enterprises Scale Supply Chains, Increase Presence in Top Business Circles Behind U.S. Chamber Honor
BEVERLY HILLS, Mich., Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington-based U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) named the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce "Chamber of the Year" in the "Small Chamber" category today (Monday) at its national conference in Houston, Texas. Innovative programs that helped Hispanic Business Enterprises increase their competitiveness and scale the supply chains of global manufacturers, as well as efforts to diversify member businesses into new industries such as technology, aerospace, health care and construction helped MHCC secure the coveted title.
"We are honored to receive this important recognition from the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce," said MHCC Chairperson JoAnn Chavez. "We have focused our programs on providing truly exceptional levels of support that give members the real-world tools and insights they need to scale global supply chains and create sustainable growth."
The USHCC each year honors three Hispanic chambers with the Chamber of the Year Award for outstanding service to their local business members and communities. Applicants from across the nation were judged on their accomplishments, leadership, service and commitment to the small business community.
The Small, Medium and Large Chamber of the Year Awards honor accomplished Hispanic chambers of commerce that serve fewer than 249 members, between 250 and 499 members, and more than 500 members, respectively.
During the past two years, MHCC has increased its focus on programs that provide high-level mentorship to Hispanic Business Enterprises on topics key to business growth such as finance, marketing and succession planning. Additional programs provide opportunities for members to establish a meaningful presence in diverse industries such as technology, aerospace, healthcare and construction.
