Micro Industries Debuts Ivy Bridge for Touch&Go Computers
WESTERVILLE, Ohio, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Micro Industries continues its commitment to Intel® processor technology by migrating its most popular small- and large-format Touch&Go Computers to Intel's Ivy Bridge technology. The 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors provide a broad range of performance options—from the low-end Intel® Core™ i3 processor, for cost sensitive applications, to the high-performance Intel® Core™ i7 processor, which greatly enhances the user experience. The 3rd Generation processors feature Intel® HD Graphics 4000 architecture integrated directly into the processor, which has been re-architected for significantly boosted performance.

"This migration to Ivy Bridge truly adds a performance burst that our customers will appreciate and experience visually," said Michael Curran, chief executive officer of Micro Industries. "Ivy Bridge provides significantly enhanced graphics technology that delivers crisper images without artifacts and is the first Intel processor to deliver full 1080P HD video playback capability." Intel Turbo Boost Technology provides even more performance on 3rd Generation Intel Core processor-based systems. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 automatically allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency if they're operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits.
The new motherboards are backward-compatible with Micro Industries' small- and large-format Touch&Go all-in-one touchscreen computers. They are available for upgrades, leveraging the advanced technologies of PCI Express and SATA interfaces. With three PCI Express module sites, the motherboards can be configured with advanced communications options, such as WiFi, Bluetooth, or 4G cellular, and even support an onboard Solid State Disk for local back-up or mirroring.
Micro Industries' small- and large-format computers use the company's proprietary passive-cooling technology, which lets systems run quietly and eliminates the first major failure point, the processor fan. By incorporating all primary power components on the motherboard, the second major failure point—the power supply—also is eliminated. This makes Touch&Go computers among the most reliable choices on the market.
Micro Industries computers feature Intel's vPro Technology with Active Management Technology (iAMT) for remote control of the system, even if the computer is locked up. It has hardware-assisted security to make it difficult for unauthorized persons to access sensitive data in memory. Coupled with its Touch&Go Enterprise™ software, Micro Industries can offer a complete support package for clients to manage and update their systems without dispatching support personnel and consuming valuable resources.
