MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Parallel Technologies, an industry-leading reliable data center and intelligent building solutions company, was selected by Internet, networking, cable TV, phone, data center and managed services, home automation and advertising services provider Midco to design/build its new state-of-the-art data center in Fargo, North Dakota. Construction on the 16,000-square-foot dual-path, concurrently maintainable facility will begin in August and is slated to be operational in early 2018.
Built with future expansion in mind, the $12 million data center will host, store and monitor data services for regional and local business customers. The facility will have immediate capacity for 250 cabinets with another 28,000 square foot available for expansion.
"With Data Centers in such high demand in the Dakotas, the future-looking design of the new data center demonstrates Midco's commitment to advanced technology and its customers," said Tim Kittila, director Data Center Strategy, Parallel Technologies. "This colocation data center facility will meet the needs of the most sophisticated cloud providers and enterprises and provide the region with capacity to grow and expand economically."

Additionally, the facility is being built in close proximity to sub-station and power infrastructure and has capacity to provide at least 24 hours of power if there is a catastrophic power outage in the region.
"The standards we are building this data center to is a testament to our commitment to our customers to provide the highest level of IT performance and reliability," said Scott Smidt, Vice President of Business Engineering and Operations, Midco. "Through this data center, businesses can have the highest confidence in the protection of their critical data while at the same time interconnecting with local, regional and national providers."
