Midenas. A new Gift Shop in Kirkby in Ashfield

Midenas opened a new shop in Kirkby in Ashfield in September 2013. The store sells handcrafted and fair-trade gifts, clothing and accessories.

 This is the first of its kind in Kirkby in Ashfield and we have been gradually building up our range of goods over the last 6 months.

 It is owned run by Kym and John Stokes. We wanted to offer the people of Kirkby and surrounding areas a place to shop in relaxing and friendly environment. T o obtain the goods that we sell people usually have to travel to local big towns like Mansfield and Nottingham.

We sell a variety of goods which some may say is alternative or new age including incense, essential oils, clothing, candles, wind chimes and dream catchers. We also sell locally handcrafted goods including jewellery, candles and gifts. A large proportion of the goods we sell are fair trade and we sell goods from companies such as Nemesis Now, Alchemy, Siesta, Dark star, phase as well as smaller companies like small eagle enterprises who source incense direct from villages in India.

As we are a small shop so we cannot carry a large range of goods but are able to order from a large range offered by our suppliers and will order items for customers.

In the shop we have an area where people can sit and read the books we provide for reference and enjoy a tea or coffee.

The name is an anagram of Damien S , our son who was killed in 2001 in a motorcycle accident .
