Millennium Laboratories Founder and CEO James Slattery Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® San Diego Finalist

SAN DIEGO, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Laboratories, a leading provider of medication monitoring services to physicians and staff treating chronic pain, announced today that James Slattery, CEO and founder, is a regional finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2011 San Diego region. The Ernst & Young LLP award program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.  Mr. Slattery was selected as a finalist from nearly 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event held June 16, 2011.

As a former police officer and husband to a palliative care nurse, James Slattery witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of prescription drug abuse and misuse. In late 2007 he founded Millennium Laboratories to help meet those challenges.
