Million Dollar Road Trip Promotes the 'Good News' of Main Street America in Georgia

ATLANTA, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Million Dollar Road Trip (MDRT), a national advertising campaign that promotes and celebrates the American entrepreneurial spirit, will pass through Georgia this week with stops in Atlanta and Athens as part of a yearlong cross-country journey.

Created by two brothers, Walter and Patrick Hessert, the mission of this innovative campaign is to promote small businesses in America and to inspire others to follow their passions. The brothers are traveling the nation in a 23-foot blue Airstream and selling $1 million dollars of advertising on the exterior of the trailer, transforming it into a mosaic of American businesses. Since launching on July 4th, nearly 100 businesses have purchased ad space on the Airstream.

Along the way, MDRT awards cash grants to people demonstrating a commitment to their passions.  Every two weeks new candidates, whom the brothers meet on the road, are posted on the MDRT website where the public can vote for the most inspiring entrepreneur.  The biweekly winners are awarded $500 and advertising space on the trailer.

Over the course of the year, MDRT will cover over 40,000 miles, visit 48 states, pass through 50 of the nation's largest cities, and attend some of the most notable events in the country. While in Georgia, scheduled appearances include Taste of Atlanta in Midtown on Saturday, October 23rd, and the Atlanta Falcons football game on Sunday, October 24th.
