Minnesota Department of Transportation paves the way with Make Technologies(C)

New streamlined approach to legacy system modernization effort

Mn/DOT's Transportation Information System (TIS) platform is a mission-critical legacy system that plays a central role in the maintenance and reporting of roadway-related information to external departments such as pavement maintenance and collisions, as well as compliance reporting to federal agencies.

The challenge that Mn/DOT faced was an aging 40-year-old mainframe application with limited in-house support and expertise. Mn/DOT needed a full and clear understanding of its TIS platform functionality in order to make informed decisions to create a robust and flexible system for easier enhancements and continued maintenance.
