Minnesota School Of Cosmetology Shows Appreciation To Military With Free Haircuts
College offers complimentary service to veterans and members of the military every Wednesday
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Minnesota School of Cosmetology (MSC) is proud to be a military-friendly school by offering free haircuts to veterans and military members every week on Wednesday. MSC has two campuses in the Twin Cities, located in Woodbury and Plymouth, which together estimate they have given approximately 300 free haircuts to military members over the past two years.
"We are so thankful for our local military members and veterans, some of whom attend or have family members who attend our schools," says Elaine Vandenburgh, campus director for Minnesota School of Cosmetology-Plymouth. "Offering complimentary haircut services is just a small token of our appreciation for all they do."
The haircuts are performed by students in the cosmetology program at MSC. During the program, students learn to perfect hair, nail and skin care techniques through 420 hours of theory and lab and 1,130 clinical hours, many of which are with clients on the salon floor. Hair, skin, makeup and nail services are also offered at an affordable price to the general public.
In addition to its support of the military, Minnesota School of Cosmetology has partnered with many local organizations to participate in community service events, such as Operation Glass Slipper, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day.
