AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Miss Austin 2013 (U.S. Pageant), Brigette Dechant, coordinated a clothing drive where Texas Capitol staff members donated more than 250 pounds of gently used clothes to the women's charity Dress for Success.
The mission of Dress for Success is to "promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life."
"Dress for Success is a great organization with a valuable mission in Texas," said Brigette Dechant. "The Texas Capitol community really rallied around this worthy cause. This is a problem that women face not just in Austin, but the whole state of Texas. Not only were we able to donate clothes to this charity, but we raised awareness that will benefit women in the future."
The clothing will be dropped off at the Dress for Success Austin location this Saturday, Dec. 14.
