Missouri Care Sponsors 2016 Show-Me State Games
COLUMBIA, Mo. and TAMPA, Fla., July 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Missouri Care, Inc., a subsidiary of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), announced today a sponsorship benefiting the youth football program at the Show-Me State Games (SMSG), an Olympic-style sports festival for all ages and ability levels. The games take place in June and July throughout the city of Columbia. In addition to the summer games, the SMSG offers events throughout the year to promote health, fitness, family and fun.
Participants have the opportunity to compete in more than 40 sports, including non-Olympic sports such as football, disc golf and pickleball. In 2015, more than 24,000 participants represented 113 of Missouri's 114 counties. Missouri Care will "adopt" the youth football competitions and its associates will volunteer to help with event activities such as team check-ins, water distribution and field marshalling.
