Mitsubishi Power Systems Unveils New $325 Million Manufacturing and Service Facility

POOLER, Ga., May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas, Inc. (MPSA) today dedicated its new $325 million Savannah Machinery Works, a state-of-the-art facility that will manufacture and service large gas and steam turbines to provide power to the electric grid both in the United States and around the world. Some 500 energy industry executives, business leaders, and guests from throughout the country were joined by Hideaki Omiya, President of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., Koji Hasegawa, President of MPSA, Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, former Georgia governor Sonny Perdue, Pooler Mayor Michael Lamb and Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chris Cummiskey in cutting the ribbon on a complex that will employ some 500 people and create millions of dollars in economic activity for Georgia.
