NEW YORK, Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MKG is proud to announce a new partnership with Crowdcentric to co-present Social Media Week's (SMW) Global Headquarters in New York. For the first time since its inception five years ago, SMW will offer attendees a central hub to experience a conference in radical new ways. MKG's creative vision, design expertise and cutting-edge digital capabilities have been instrumental in creating the Global HQ multi-floor experience at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
MKG will lend its expertise in experiential marketing, digital integration, sponsorship activation and event production to create an innovative, eye-catching space for SMW attendees. In keeping with this year's theme, "Ideas Connected," the Global HQ is intended to be both educational and experiential, inspiring and facilitating communications between conference presenters and participants.
MKG Designer Vanessa Noritz emphasized the aesthetic importance of the physical space for the effective exchange of ideas. "Given that one of the biggest draws of SMW is the opportunity to network and connect, we wanted to design a space that is equal parts style and function to help forge connections and unlock ideas," said Noritz. "To create SMW's first Global HQ, we'll use unfinished wood, modular builds, stencils and stamped graphics to build out a temporary, but cohesive space that's informal, approachable and allows the programming and content to take center stage."
As part of the Global HQ space, MKG has been intimately involved in creating what the branded experiences and digital and social extensions will look like for SMW NYC's sponsors. MKG's expertise in designing large-scale interactive experiences for brands will drive the on-site activations for key partners including Social Media Week Global Headline Sponsor Nokia, as well as Google, Ford Motor Company, Warby Parker and many others. "We've designed SMW's first Global HQ to organically facilitate networking, connections and the sharing of ideas," said MKG's Director of Digital Strategy Dave Brown.
