MLB Teams Break 140-Run Mark On Tuesday; Second Time In Three Weeks That Thousands Of Fans Win Prizes In #MLBRunsOnDD
Partnership with Dunkin' Donuts has fans rooting for runs every Tuesday throughout the season
NEW YORK, June 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second time in the three weeks since it debuted, a season-long weekly promotional partnership with Dunkin' Donuts again delivered a win for thousands of baseball fans. Each week on Tuesday, fans will be rooting for MLB teams to collectively score more than 140 runs that day as thousands will win free prizes every time it happens the rest of the season, boosted by Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee, the official iced coffee of MLB.com.
Yesterday, MLB teams combined to plate 146 runs, spurred by three teams scoring at least 10 runs. MLB.com and Dunkin' Donuts now will have awarded more than 5,000 prizes for these two weeks alone, highlighted by eight individual grand prizes -- VIP ticket packages to the 2015 All-Star Game at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati this July.
Next Tuesday, and all subsequent Tuesdays with regular season games scheduled, fans will be following along live on MLB.com to see if the mark will be passed, powering the conversation across social media with the program's official hashtag - #MLBRunsOnDD.
