MLV Reinforces Commitment to Energy Investment Banking and Principal Investment

NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MLV & Co. announced today that Jim McBride, of J.R. McBride & Company, has been retained by the firm's Energy Investment Banking Group as a Senior Advisor. Mr. McBride will provide advice to MLV on various strategic initiatives and focus on identifying opportunities within the sector. In addition, Mr. McBride will work with MLV Energy Partners, LLC (formerly known as 1055 Energy Partners, LLC), MLV's principal investment arm in energy.

Mr. McBride has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry, both as an investment banker and petroleum engineer. He most recently spent 6 years at Capital One Securities where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Capital One Securities Energy Banking Division. Prior to that, Mr. McBride served in a number of leadership roles in both the financial industry and energy industry including RBS, Fleet Boston, Baker Hughes, Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase. Jim began his career in the energy industry as a petroleum engineer with Mobil Oil.

Mr. McBride is the founder of J.R. McBride and Company, a privately owned firm that advises and invests in the energy sector. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) as well as the Board of Trustees for Loyola University of New Orleans. Mr. McBride holds a B.S.E. in Engineering from Mississippi State University.
