BOSTON and LOS ANGELES, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- mobile messaging solutions (mms), one of the world's leading one-stop mobile marketing companies, today announced that Kai Buehler has been named the company's U.S. Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Buehler will continue to build mms' leadership position in the mobile marketing and interactive television (iTV) space, and move the company into the next phase of growth in the U.S. Buehler brings over 12 years of mobile entertainment experience, having spent the last four years leading MindMatics' North American operations. He will be based out of mms' new Los Angeles office.
Kai Buehler succeeds Larry Jordan, who served as the company's U.S. Chief Executive Officer from February 2009 to January 2010, following the company's acquisition from VeriSign (Nasdaq: VRSN). Jordan continues to serve on mms' strategic advisory board.
"Mobile marketing is a business that has been proven on a global level," said Buehler. "Media-savvy smart phone users are inviting brands into their mobile world. mms is well positioned in the U.S. market, offering clients a full package of front-end mobile solutions, innovation campaign ideas, and back-end global connectivity. I am excited to leverage these assets to take the company to the next level."
In addition to MindMatics, Buehler has served in senior roles at plan_b media, Siemens, and the international consulting firm Droege & Comp. He was the co-founder and CEO of plan_b media, which became a leader in the production and distribution of mobile entertainment content with offices in New York, Cologne, London and Vienna. He successfully led the company to profitability and sold it to MindMatics. As CEO North America of MindMatics, Buehler was responsible for integrating mobile interactivity into some of America's top TV-shows such as "Deal or No Deal," "Big Brother," "Survivor," "Sabado Gigante" and "America's Next Top Model." Buehler holds a Master Degree in Business from the University of Paderborn, Germany and a PhD in Economics from the University of Hong Kong.
"We are fortunate to add Kai to mms' management team," said Otto Legerer, CEO, mms AG. "His mobile entertainment experience complements the current team well.
