Mobixell Extends its Third Party Licensing Portfolio to Include Wireless Patents of Openwave

SAN JOSE, California, October 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobixell Networks, a leading provider of rich-media mobile data solutions, announced today it has extended its third party licensing portfolio to include wireless patents from Openwave Systems. The licensing agreement enables Mobixell to clear the US-based Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) dispute between Openwave Systems and 724 Solutions - a company acquired by Mobixell earlier this year. The details of the agreement between the parties remain confidential.

Mobixell indicated this licensing agreement is standard business practice for the company to ensure its products are fully licensed to use third party technologies, as it has continuously done in the past with technologies such as MPEG LA, On2 VP6, Via Licensing and others. Mobixell's software for adaptation and optimisation of rich media has also been offered pre-integrated with some of Openwave's solutions.
