Modern Markets Initiative Names Kirsten Wegner Senior Vice President, Business Development
NEW YORK, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Modern Markets Initiative (MMI), the organization dedicated to education and advocacy on the benefits of high frequency trading, announces that Kirsten Wegner has been appointed Senior Vice President, Business Development. She will report to Bill Harts, Chief Executive Officer of Modern Markets Initiative.
Wegner will create and develop proposals and initiatives in support of solutions to issues affecting all investors. She will also serve as a resource for market participants, regulators and lawmakers looking for a better understanding of modern markets in creating public policy.

Wegner most recently served as Director, Government Relations at International Securities Exchange. Her responsibilities there included the creation of bipartisan outreach and advocacy strategy on financial services and tax matters impacting exchanges and retail investors. Previously, she was a Senior Associate at Squire Patton Boggs LLP, where she provided strategic counsel to stock exchanges, Industry trade organizations, and brokerages on financial services, tax, and technology matters.
