Moiety App Partners with Nonprofit in Fight for Education in Impoverished Countries
NEW YORK, Jan. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Moiety, a smartphone app to simplify complicated family schedules and expenses, has partnered with Brighter Children in its efforts to sponsor children's education in impoverished countries. The donor agreement coincides with the app's expected launch in February 2016.
Brighter Children is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization founded in 2013. Every dollar donated is used directly on students, accounted for, and available for review. Its team of over 30 volunteers raises all operating costs separately.
In 2015, the organization sponsored 150 children – a 250% increase from its total in 2014. These students are twice as likely to progress to secondary school than local peers.
"In 2013, we started with a $50 deposit in our back account. Now we're rapidly gaining momentum," said Kunal Doshi, Founder of Brighter Children. "Passionate individuals like Greg have been so instrumental in meeting and exceeding our goals."
Moiety is led by Gregory Wagner, a 20+ year Wall Street veteran with leadership roles at RBS, ABN AMRO and Lehman Brothers. It began as a concept in February 2015.
"After hearing about Brighter Children's mission and direct impact principles, I was hooked," said Wagner, Founder and Creator of Moiety. "I couldn't be any more excited to have aligned Moiety with such an outstanding organization that shares our values."
Moiety aims to provide a solution to the many challenges facing the 53% of families in the U.S. in "complicated" family situations.
The Android and iPhone app will be available in multiple languages, and is engineered to be a complete toolkit for families, mediators and lawyers to efficiently manage calendars, logistics and expenses.
